Developed by the one-man Transylvania-based studio Borington, Rum & Gun boasts four acts of handcrafted levels brimming with secrets and plunder. But don’t expect to remember much after all that rum! Between firefights, you’ll live the pirate life: downing potent grog, serenading your crew with musical instruments, risking your gold at Liar’s Dice, and engaging in thrilling naval combat. Even legendary beast hunting is on the menu – if you can crack their cryptic riddles.

The “YARRPG” element shines through its extensive customization. Collect over 33 hats, 30 weapon types, and 15 pet species. Each weapon can be enhanced with two Spell Runes, drastically altering its attacks. Character perks add further depth, ensuring your pirate captain is truly unique. The core gameplay is a fast-paced top-down shooter, but melee and spellcaster builds are also viable, utilizing an active reload system for added tactical depth. Beyond the main campaign, the Arena and the infinite Treasure Hunt mode (with randomly generated maps and LAN co-op) offer endless replayability. A built-in map editor, with Steam Workshop integration, lets you create and share your own pirate paradises (or hellscapes!).
